Siemens C62 Review
The Siemens C62 announced in 25th September 2003 and released Q4 the same year is an entry level phone by Siemens designed in Bar format with an internal aerial aimed at universal user market segment. In Siemens product line this model stands above Siemens C60.
The Siemens C62 is a Tri-band GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz mobile phone supporting GPRS Class 8 (4+1) data transfer. It also features SMS, EMS, MMS mobile messaging and supports Message Templates, T9 predictive text input and Picture Messaging. The phone provides internet connectivity with e-mail support, WAP v. 1.2.1 browser (POP3) and PC connectivity with RS232 and USB cable connection.
The size of the C62 is rather average measuring 101 x 44 x 20 mm (82 cc) however it is quite lightweight, just 85 g. The handset is available in Eagle White, Pigeon Blue, Cherry Red casing and with a standard Li-Ion 630 mAh battery the Siemens C62 ensures up to 4.3 hours of talk time and up to 250 hours of standby time (charging time - less than 2 hours).
The Siemens C62 has a quite good size 128 x 128 pixels (7 text lines) Colour screen but as a budget model it has no built-in camera.
The Siemens C62 also features Autodial, Voice Dial, Voice Commands, Loudspeaker Handsfree, in-phone Vibration, call functionality and supports 16 chords (voice) polyphonic MIDI ringtones having also a built-in ringtone editor. On the Mobile Fun side it also features downloadable Logo, Wallpaper, Screensaver. The C62 provides up to 500 entries, telephone book (SIM card) up to 250 entries, 10 dialed, received, missed calls in phone memory. Additional features of the C62 include Calculator, Currency Convertor, Clock, Alarm, Calendar, ToDo Application, Organizer Functionality. The Siemens C62 also supports Voice Memo functionality (30 sec voice memo).
As a budget model the Siemens C62 combines low cost with very good standby time and Tri-band worldwide operation and in addition to these it is pretty lightweight.
