Siemens C55 Review
The Siemens C55 announced in 2002, and released Q3 the same year is an entry level phone by Siemens designed in Bar format with an internal aerial aimed at universal user market segment.
The Siemens C55 is a Dual-band GSM 900 / 1800 MHz mobile phone supporting GPRS Class 8 data transfer. It also features SMS, EMS mobile messaging and supports T9 predictive text input, Picture Messaging as well as EMS rel. 4.3 functionality. The Siemens C55 provides internet connectivity with WAP v. 1.2.1 browser and PC connectivity with RS232 cable connection. It also comes with Java™ MIDP support.
The size of the C55 is rather average measuring 101 x 44 x 21 mm (69 cc) and it is quite lightweight, just 80 g. The handset is available in Aqua, Champagne, Bordeaux casing plus interchangable CLIPit Covers. With a standard Li-Ion 700 mAh battery the Siemens C55 ensures up to 5 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of standby time (charging time - less than 2 hours).
The Siemens C55 has a relatively small 101 x 64 pixels (5 text lines) Monochrome screen and has no built-in camera.
The phone also features Autodial, Voice Dial, Voice Commands, Loudspeaker Handsfree, in-phone Vibration, call functionality and supports 22 chords (voice) polyphonic MIDI ringtones. Mobile Gaming support includes Java ™ Games support. The C55 provides 250 entries in phone memory.
Additional features of the C55 include Calculator, Currency Convertor, Clock, Alarm, Calendar, ToDo Application, Organizer Functionality.
