Siemens A65 Review
The Siemens A65 announced in 20th of July 2004 and due in Q1 2005 is an entry level phone by Siemens designed in Bar format with an internal aerial aimed at universal user market segment.
The Siemens A65 is a Tri-band GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz mobile phone supporting GPRS Class 8 (4+1) data transfer. It also features SMS, EMS, MMS mobile messaging and supports Message Templates and T9 predictive text input functionality. It provides internet connectivity with WAP v. 2.0 browser. PC connectivity of the device is supported with RS232 cable connection.
The size of the A65 is rather average measuring 101 x 45 x 19 mm (78 cc) but at the same time it is quite lightweight, just 76.3 g. The handset is available in Sparkling Silver, Mystery Silver casing and it also features optional interchangable panels to refresh the look of the handset. With a standard Li-Ion 700 mAh battery the Siemens A65 ensures up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 250 hours of standby time (charging time - less than 2 hours).
The phone has a relatively small 101 x 80 pixels (4 text lines) CSTN Colour screen and has no built-in camera.
It also features Autodial, Loudspeaker Handsfree, in-phone Vibration, call functionality and supports 16 chords (voice) polyphonic MIDI ringtones. On the Mobile Fun side it also features downloadable Logo, Wallpaper, Screensaver. Additional features of the A65 include Calculator, Currency Convertor, Clock, Alarm, Calendar, ToDo Application, Organizer Functionality.
Althoough being an entry-level phone, the Siemens A65 is Tri-band that makes it operable on any GSM network in the world, plus it is quite lightweight and has a very good battery life figures and if you are looking for a simple but reliable device with no frills attached, the Siemens A65 is definetly the one to consider.
