Sharp GX15 Review
Released in 2004 the Sharp GX15 looks strangely reminiscent of the Sony Ericsson T610 and Sony Ericsson T630 mobile phones and is also quite close to the Panasonic X100 handset which perhaps suggests their common origin.
As a mobile phone the Sharp GX15 features a Tri-Band GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / DCS 1900 MHz connectivity with WAP 2.0, GPRS class 10, SMS, EMS and MMS mobile messaging support. It also supports Java™ MIDP2.0 + VSCL1.1 and provides Bluetooth™ V1.1 connectivity with support for headset and car-kit profiles and also OBEX for exchanging contacts, appointments, video, pictures and sounds with other phones, PDAs and PCs as well as USB cable and infrared (IrDA) connectivity. It features 1.8 MB of internal shared memory for applications and storage.
With a size of 17.8 x 105 x 45 mm and weight of 84g it is compact yet average for this class.
Display of the Sharp GX15 is QQVGA 120 x 160 pixels (dot), 65K (65536) colour system TFT LCD offering superior colour reproduction. Camera has an improved 350K-pixel quick start-up CMOS (better than VGA) with 4x digital zoom and 4-shot continuous shooting. It also allows video recording with up to 100 KB Video capture / playback.
Other features include enhanced calendar and alarms, enhanced phonebook features.
The Mobile Fun capacity of the includes 40 voice (chord) polyphonic ring tones and support for downloadable Java™ games.
