Panasonic X100 Review
Available since Q3 2004, the Panasonic X100 is a Dualband GSM 900, GSM 1800 MHz mobile supporting GPRS, WAP, SMS MMS and Java wireless technology.
With standard 730mAh Lithium-ion battery it ensures up to 7 hours talktime and up to 200 hours standby time. The phone itself measures 90 x 44 x 18 mm and weights 79 g with battery. It is packed in an attractive and stylish brushed alluminium casing.
The Panasonic X100 features a decent TFT LCD display, 128 x 128 pixels, 65K (16 bit) colour depth. It is aquipped with VGA 640 x 480 pixels resolution digital camera with self-portrait mirror that sits on the back near the loudspeaker.
Mobile Fun features include Java support as well as polyphonic ringtone of 32 chord (voice) polyphony.
Interestingly, the phone bears remarkable similarity to a number of Sony Ericsson K508 models (Sony Ericsson T610, Sony Ericsson T630 and Sony Ericsson K700 and Sony Ericsson K500 / K500i in particular) and also to the Sharp GX15 handset both in terms of design and in terms of functionality so it may become a viable option for those considering buying a mobile phone in this class.
