Nokia 3100 Review
Released in Q3 2003 Nokia 3100 is based on a simplified Series 40 platform which is also the base for Nokia 6610/7210/6800. On the other hand it continues the 3000 product line.
It is a fully developed Tri-band eGSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 MHz phone with GPRS (3+1, 2+2 - class 6) and WAP 1.2.1 packed into an attractive 101.8x42.8x15.2-19.6, 85g package featuring high-contrast 4096 colours 128x128 pixel display.
On the Mobile Fun side it is equipped with MMS, 4 chord polyphonic ringtones and its memory supports up to 6 games or applications (64 Kb each). It comes with pre-installed Beach Rally, Snake EX2 and Bowling Java Games and supports downloadable Java Games as well.
Perhaps the most remarkable feature of its appearance are snap-on covers that glow in the dark and flash in time with your funky ring tones (a bit like Haptics by Motorola). These flashing facias are available in many colours. Also among all other accessories for the Nokia 3100 is an optional digital camera.
Coupled with quite good battery life with standby time 170 to 410 hours (over 17 days) and up to 6 hours talktime, the Nokia 3100 offers a solid middle range solution with some added fun. Whis this flashy and functional phone Nokia produced yet another budget model certainly appealing to the young audience.
