Motorola
Motorola pioneered the clamshell phone design with their StarTac series years ago and still make the most desirable clamshells on the market. Recently Motorola have been a driving force in Windows-based Smartphones, Symbian based phones and 3G handsets too. Announced in February 2004, Motorola MPx and Motorola MPx220 are pioneering Windows Smartphone 2003 line of Motorola products while Motorola E680 is a highly innovative Embedded Linux product.
Motorola A-series mobiles are designed for the 3G networks. Not being cheap they are so feature-rich that it makes them more like a portable desktop station with an in-built voice capacity or like a swiss army knife of all mobiles.
Motorola VXXX-series phones (Motorola V300, Motorola V400p, Motorola V500, Motorola V525, Motorola V600) had essentially grown from the same root. The same clamshell design is complemented by the same set of freatures which is 95% identical. The earlier Motorola V300 and V400 models are lacking Bluetooth in comparison with the rest of the group and Motorola V400p stands out from the row having the Push-to-talk™ (PTT) technology enabled. All phones of the V5XXX series have almost literally the same set of features including GPRS and Bluetooth. Similar size and design makes phones of the V5XX series virtually indistingushable. The only serious difference between those models is that they were designed for different networks. So you can think of Motorola V500 as Orange V5XX and similarly Motorola V525 is Vodafone V5XX. Motorola V600 is not so much different from the Motorola V5XX series but is aimed at a high end of the market. Aston Martin and Motorola have collaborated to celebrate the release of the new Aston Martin DB9 by releasing Motorola V600 Aston Martin. Only 1000 limited edition mobile phones have been produced and no more will ever be made. This is one of the most exclusive (and perhaps the most overpriced) phones ever made.
