Motorola V220 Review
Positioned above the Motorola V180 the Motorola V220 differs by having a built-in VGA 640x480 camera and Haptics. At the same time in comparison to the more developed Motorola V300 it has less advanced STN screen and smaller memory size. It is a compact camera phone in a stylish clamshell package promising to deliver exceptional value for money.
The phone side of the Motorola V220 is represented by the support of is a Quad-Band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz with GPRS (4+2) and WAP 2.0 with 1.6 Mb of memory for applications and data and a USB PC connectivity.
It measures 83.5x44x22.2mm and weighs 95 grams, with a 128x128 pixel colour screen in 65k colours. There is a small external display 96x32 pixels.
Entertainment side of the phone includes support for Java games and applications, MIDI, WAV and MP3 polyphonic ringtones. The Motorola V220 allows peer-to-peer games over GPRS and SMS and it also supports Instant Messaging, MMS, EMS and Nokia Smart Messages, has a built-in MIDI ringtone mixer, speakerphone and downloadable themes to personalise your Motorola V220.
In the Motorola's current range of phones the Motorola V220 is positioned in the middle but more towards the budget end of the market. Having almost all the advanced features of higher pitched phones it should stand really popular within its price range.
