Motorola E398 Review

The Motorola E398 is available to buy starting June 2004!
The Motorola E398 is a large-screen feature-packed Triband GSM 1900, GSM 1800, GSM 900 MHz, GPRS camera phone with lots of added fun!
On the surface it features a 176 x 220 pixel display, VGA resolution camera, Bluetooth, and Java. The "killer app" in the design of the Motorola E398 the Haptics function that provides syncronised colour themes, multi-color lights and vibration. For the first time Haptics were introduced in the design of Motorola V80 but in the Motorola E398 the Rythm Lights function allows Haptics to be synced with the music and sounds around, by setting up a mic sensitivity. LEDs on both sides of the phone as well as the keypad lights begin to flash with the music - this should truly be a hit for night club or disco environments. Needless to say that no other phone has this functionality so far.
With standard 700 mAh Li-Ion battery it provides talktime of up to 7 hours and standby time of up to 210 hours.
With snazzy looks is not all the Motorola E398 can do... Motorola have designed this to be a first rate audio phone aimed to provide excellent sound quality not only from headphones but from the inbuilt speaker system as well. The Motorola E398 features built-in 16mm 22Khz 3D stereo surround sound speakers for optimum enjoyment of MP3s, and the large screen can also be used for MPEG-4 video playback. The TFT color LCD display featuring 176 x 220 pixels resolution in 65,000 colors is one of the best currently available on the market.

Advanced features include Bluetooth, and in addition to the 5 Mb of internal memory the Motorola E398 features SunDisk TriFlash-R™ (AKA TransFlash or T-Flash) memory card slot allowing up to 1Gb of memory and more in the future, as well as MP3 player, and speakerphone.
With all these advanced Mobile Fun functionality it allows not only to play Polyphonic MIDI and MP3 ringtones but also listen to some serious music. The Motorola E398 is certainly the paramount audio, leasure and entertainment phone (at least it has no competition as an audio phone at the time of release)!
