Haier P6 Review
Released in 2004 the Haier P6 is a innovative and multi-function mobile phone continueing a new trend in mobile phone design. It is aimed to replace the already famous Haier P5 model providing improved design and better functionality.
With increasing miniaturisation of mobile devices it became possible to take a new turn in the mobile phone format and instead of producing larger multifunctional devices start making simpler but smaller phones and the Haier P6 is exactly this - a mobile phone that looks more like a usual pen. Needless to say that this trend gradually becomes popular and Siemens are releasing their Siemens PenPhone soon after.
The Haier P6 is a Dual-band GSM 900 GSM 1800 MHz mobile measuring 137 x 30.6 x 19.7 mm it weights just 80 g. It is five grams more than the Haier P5 due to improved battery design that is now became removable. With standard 520 mAh Li-Ion battery provides standby of time 70-150 hours and 2 to 2.5 hours talk time: (120-150 min).
It has a monichrome 102 x 64 pixels display backlit in blue colour. Additional functionality includes iTAP predictive text input, Polyphonic ringtones, up to 15 min Voice memo, Voice dial, Games and Screensaver. In addition to the voice recorder the Haier P6 also features a laser pointer which might come quite handy for presentations.
In comparison to the Haier P5, the Haier P6 features an improved and more professional design. Instead of an in-built battery in the Haier P5, the Haier P6 has a removeable battery unit.
Being so compact and slim makes it hard to identify it as a mobile phone. The Haier P6 is not only an interesting design move it is also a very practical thing to have if you are not interested in most of the bells and whistles other mobiles come with.
